How to remove candle wax from carpet, couch and wood.

Candle wax removal from wood, couch and carpeting

To remove the wax from carpet or fabric, you need a plain old brown paper bag and an iron (clothes iron)

1. Cut open the paper bag so it lays flat.

2. Lay the paper bag on the affected carpet (don’t use bag with writing as it could bleed in)

3. Set the steam iron on a moderate setting.

4. Once warmed up, place the iron on top of the paper bag over the wax spot. Move the iron back and forth over the wax spot. As the wax warms up it will begin to absorb into the paper bag.  Keep iron on bag at all times do not allow contact with wax or your carpet.

5. When a dark spot appears on the bag, move a dry area of the bag over the wax spot and continue to move the steam iron over the area.

6. You are done when ironing no longer creates dark spot on the bag.

To remove candle wax from wood, apply a plastic bag filled with ice to the spot and just crumble it off when it is brittle.
